A Midwestern native, pianist Anne Voglewede Green earned a Bachelor of Music degree from Macalester College in St. Paul, Minnesota, where she studied with composer-pianist Donald Betts. She also studied with James Tocco at the University of Wisconsin, John Wustman at Valparaiso University, and Christopher Oldfather at a series of Wellesley College Composers and Chamber Music conferences. While at the Wellesley program, Voglewede Green was chosen to perform a newly commissioned piece by American composer Andrew Sigler for the finale concert in 2015.
Over the past 4 decades, Voglewede Green has performed as a choral singer and/or professional accompanist with many musical organizations including The Schubert Club, the Minnesota Chorale, the Minnesota and St. Paul Chamber orchestras, the Dale Warland Symphonic Chorus, the Plymouth Festival Chorus, VocalEssence, I Cantanti, Crescendo in the Berkshires, the Cantilena Chamber Choir, and for the past decade, the acclaimed choirs of Chorus Angelicus & Gaudeamus under the leadership of Artistic Director Gabriel Lofvall.
Voglewede Green previously worked in a variety of senior administrative positions while residing in Minnesota, including the Minnesota Orchestra, the Schubert Club, Minnesota Public Radio (as producer of the live classical weekly broadcast “Live from Landmark”), and Carleton College. As a musician, she has worked collaboratively with music faculty, choruses or chamber musicians at Carleton and St. Olaf colleges, Crescendo in the Berkshires, and the Hartt School of Music. She enjoys working as an accompanist for a number of school choral programs that have included the Litchfield (CT) Middle and High Schools, Taft School Collegium Chorale, Monument Mountain (MA) and Monument Valley Regional Middle School, and the Washington (CT) Montessori School. On a regular seasonal basis, she accompanies the choirs of Joyful Noise, Inc. under the artistic leadership of Gabriel Lofvall, the Berkshire Children’s Choir led by Artistic Director Julie Bickford, and the Washington (CT) Montessori School choral program.
Voglewede Green is currently the church organist and Choir Director for the Falls Village (CT) Congregational Church, and for the Litchfield (CT) United Methodist Church.
